Inspired by the chaos and complexity of Cubism, this piece represents the shallow reality of consumerism. The focal point of the piece is a man who has been consumed by his desire to define himself through his material possessions. This point is further made by the dark and gloomy background of broken buildings and similarly consumed people rushing past the man in the foreground, all unaware of the despair around them.
